Maria-Carmen, a professor of sociology and social work, researches social inclusion, youth in disadvantaged areas, and precarious work. She has contributed to EU youth and education/training initiatives, including as a consultant for the EC, proposal assessor for EU programs, and member of the Advisory Group of the Pool of European Youth Researchers.
She led three research projects across five Romanian regions, examining young people’s and employers’ views on the future of work, focusing on vocational education and training, graduate over-qualification, and low-skilled employment in the knowledge economy. Maria-Carmen holds a PhD in Sociology (UBB), an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Interventions (Oxford), and an MA with Merit in Gender Studies (CEU).
