Dr. Marcin Baron is a lecturer at the University of Economics in Katowice, Poland (Department of Strategic and Regional Studies). His main areas of interest are innovation, metropolitan and regional policy, especially in relation to technological disruptions, industrial applications, and open innovation. Marcin has a solid track record of advising public authorities at different levels of governance, including planning for the just transition in Poland (as a member of governmental task forces on the just transition and industrial policy) and his home region – Silesia (with various stakeholders). He is currently involved in two research projects on just transition (Horizon: BOLSTER, DUST).
