Professor Raphael Heffron is researcher and practitioner specializing in Energy Law, Justice, and Sustainability at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, France. Awarded the Jean Monnet Professorship by the European Commission for his contributions to the Just Transition to a Low-Carbon Economy, he stands as a leading global voice with over 200 publications in this area. He provided expert advice on energy policy to major international bodies, including the EU, UN, and World Bank. His current work focuses on applying justice principles into the just transition to a low-carbon economy, and has been cited by the US, Colombia and South African governments. Professor Heffron has also worked with energy companies and local governments on implementing justice considerations to new energy and infrastructure development projects.
