Magdalena Chawuła is an experienced Mining Specialist at the World Bank, with a diverse background in the coal sector. She has contributed to the review of TJTPs in Polish regions and has actively participated in discussions related to financing activities central to Just Transition (JT). During her tenure in Silesia, she addressed challenges associated with transitioning the economy from coal based to a modern, diversified model with a focus on green energy, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and innovation. Magdalena also served as a representative for the European coal sector at EURACOAL, where she navigated the complexities of social, environmental, and innovative policies. Since 2020, she has worked on developing a comprehensive coal phase-out framework with the World Bank, ensuring a holistic approach that encompasses governance, community considerations, and environmental reclamation.
