Javier Cañas Andreu is the Innovation Manager for the Just Transition at EIT Climate-KIC. Spearheading the Post Coal Future Lab (PCFL) initiative, Javier has advised decision-makers from coal regions in Central Eastern Europe and Southern Europe, working in countries like Poland, Czechia and Greece. He is part of the visionary team behind PCFL, where EIT Climate-KIC collaborates with local partners to offer multifaceted services to coal regions stakeholders. His strategies focus on creating open spaces for stakeholder alignment, empowering local leaders through capability building and participatory processes, co-designing experiments across multiple systems, and orchestrating innovative portfolios to accelerate social, technical and economic transformations. Javier's work aims to expedite the Just Transition in Europe by harmonizing with existing initiatives like the JTM financial resources and the JTP technical support.
