Arzu Uraz Yavas brings over 16 years of international experience working with high-level governmental bodies, local authorities, private sector corporations, banks, and civil society on social inclusion, resettlement, labour and human rights, gender, community development, and social sustainability. Through her diverse work experience at the World Bank and private sector ESG, she is proficient with international standards and best practices on environmental and social sustainability (i.e., IFC PS, World Bank ESF, EBRD PR, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, EU Directives, CSRD) and other corporate guidelines (GRI, SASB.).

At WSP UK, she led the development of a just transition strategy and toolkit for a global metals and mining company for their Net-Zero strategy. She has led social due diligence, resettlement plans and audits, socio-economic surveys, labour management and gender plans, human rights risk and due diligence, stakeholder engagement plans and grievance mechanisms in sectors of renewables (geothermal, wind, solar, hydro), power generation, metals & mining, oil & gas, urban and rural development, transport. Arzu has co-authored World Bank-published reports and holds two master’s degrees and a bachelor’s degree in Economics (BSc. Hons.).
